ARVO DUO

"...Arvo Duo’s performance is absolutely gorgeous. The interpretation is very expressive and passionate."
-João Luiz Rezende Lopes, Brasil Guitar Duo

Based on interest in similar repertoire, Canadian violinist Joenne Dumitrascu and Taiwanese guitarist Ming-Jui Liu began collaborating in the fall of 2015 while studying at Stony Brook University. The duo has been quickly building a reputation for exploring cross-genre repertoire as well as for their arrangements of standard chamber works. They take their name from Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, a highly-influential figure during the 20th-century to whose works and style they were both immediately drawn to.
In 2017, Arvo Duo was invited to give a duo recital in the 25th Long Island Guitar Festival.
