Ming’s appeal as a musician stems from a world-class technique coupled with the sensitivity and musicality of an artist who delves deeply into the style and interpretive aspects of music.”

- Jerry Willard, American guitarist

Ming-Jui’s music is beautiful, evocative and deeply heartfelt. The Magic Hour is exquisite and I greatly look forward to hearing more from this wonderful artist.

- Frederic Hand, composer, guitarist, and Metropolitan Opera’s lutenist

As a composer, Ming-Jui’s composition style is very distinct. Conciseness of form and contrapuntal textures are just a few features of his music.

- João Luiz Rezende, Brasil Guitar Duo

(The Magic Hour)
"…I am always happy when I come in contact with a work that conveys truly and sincerely the cultural tradition out of which a composer arises. That’s exactly the case with this approximately seven-minute solo piece. Liu renders a flawless interpretation of it on YouTube. From its expressive introduction, through a slightly faster central part, to the return of calm at the end, each note is brilliantly planned and incorporated into the ethos of the work. I should make special mention of the extremely imaginative central section, presented in two, then three, independent voices. The upper voice is first accompanied by a bass tremolo, then while the latter transforms into a slow-moving bass melody, the tremolo migrates to the middle voice as sparse upper-register tones punctuate the texture at the top. Indeed, the music confirms the very title of the composition: from beginning to end we hear a magic-evoking, circling tranquility of sound on guitar."
